Solar 300 Challenge
Every 30 minutes the earth absorbs enough energy from the sun to power the entire planet for a whole year. With Action 21 you can tap into this amazing power in your home. The Solar 300 project aims to engage with the local Warwickshire community to increase awareness of solar technology and facilitate installations with project partner Eco2Solar.
We have set up a group purchasing scheme for solar electric (PV) panels and solar thermal (hot water) panels to enable local purchasers to benefit from bulk-buy discounts. This offers a considerable discount on the individual price for groups of five or more householders all purchasing PV systems, or all purchasing solar thermal systems, and having them installed together.
Since Autumn 2010 we successfully installed three clusters of solar PV and solar thermal panels on houses in Kenilworth and Leamington; over 30 installations in all.

It doesn’t have to be sunny all the time and it definitely doesn’t have to be hot. Over the coming months Action 21 wants to double the number of solar water heating systems and solar PV panels installed in the Warwick District. Action 21 wants to help you to reduce your bills and your environmental footprint.

- You tell us you’re interested by filling in the initial interest form, either online or by downloading the form and returning it to us. Alternatively you can call 01926 339077.
- We send you a questionnaire to make sure that your house is suitable.
- If your house is suitable, we then work together to find a cluster of 6-8 people nearby who want solar water heating too. The scheme works on the basis of group discounts arranged with our supplier.
- Our partners at the South Warwickshire Credit Union can help you to flexibly finance the installation. Monthly repayments can be as little as £60 over four years.
- Eco2solar installs your solar PV and/or solar water heating system.
- You earn your money back within 5-10 years.
- Tell your friends and neighbours about this opportunity.
