Project Overview
Action 21’s Re-Useful Centre accepts and sells donated goods to reduce the number of useful items going to landfill and to raise money for sustainability projects in the local community.  Last year we diverted over 100 tonnes of reusable goods from landfill!

We run a delivery service from the Re-Useful Centre, which usually operates on three days a week within a 5 mile radius.

Volunteer tasks
Accompanying the van driver and helping to lift, load and unload items of furniture.

Skills/previous experience sought
You need to be:

  • Physically fit and able to lift and move heavy items such as sofas
  • Trustworthy and responsible
  • Polite and enthusiastic.

Full training in manual handling and health and safety will be provided. We’ll also provide safety boots if you don’t have them.

Minimum age: 18

Times needed:

  • Every Mon/Wed/Fri  8.30am-4.30pm
  • A weekly commitment to this role is required.
