Barclays Bank helps to nurture nature

18th Nov 2009

On Friday 13th November 2009 30 volunteers from Barclays Bank spent 6 hours in the drizzle to help Action 21 nurture nature.

There were big smiles all round as the volunteers worked on the ‘Nurture Nature’ Communal Garden at Action 21’s Dobson Lane Community Allotment in Whitnash. Enjoying their day out of the office, they worked on weeding, fence-painting, laying paths, paving and planting wildlife-friendly plants.

The garden isn’t just wildlife friendly, but it also is a working example of re-use, as the concrete planters were reclaimed from outside Leamington’s Spa Centre. Many thanks go to Glendale for delivering these.

By the end of the day, the work party had made a great, positive difference to the Dobson Lane allotment community area, and we hope to see them again soon!

For information about the Community Allotment, contact Louise Male, louise@action21.co.uk, or to find out more about volunteering with Action 21 email amy@action21.co.uk.
