Woodland Work Party at Dobson Lane, Saturday 16th January, 10 – 3pm
Release date: 17-12-09
Come and help in our woodland on Saturday 16th January 2010. Help us define the outer boundary of the wood; make habitat piles with the cut brash; and clear brambles from the middle of wood.
There will be hot drinks on offer throughout the day to help keep you warm and hot soup for anyone volunteering for more than two hours.
You will need to wear plenty of old warm clothes and sturdy footwear (the ground is very uneven now the sub-soiler has been over the land). Don’t forget your woolly hat!
There will be tools on the day but if you have secateurs, loppers and/or pruning saws then bring them along - but be sure to clearly label them. Gloves will be provided but you may want to wear some thinner gloves as glove liners to keep the cold out.
N.B.
The side toilets at the Community centre will be open.
A team will also be on site doing defensive planting along the Southern boundary.
