Vol role - PR Assistant


Project Overview

 Supporting Action 21’s Marketing Officer in promoting Action 21, the Re-Useful Centre and various Action 21 opportunities and events via local print media.


Volunteer tasks  

  • Writing regularly scheduled press releases
  • Contacting local papers
  • Assisting with photo opportunities
  • Developing press contacts list


Skills/previous experience sought

  • Experience of writing press releases is preferable
  • Excellent level of literacy & preferably educated to degree level
  • Experience of researching and writing up information
  • Good computer skills – knowledge of MS Office necessary
  • Able to use own initiative and work to deadlines.


Minimum age: 21

Times needed:

  • Monday or Friday
  • Volunteers usually commit to a minimum of 1 shift of 3 ½ hours per week (9:30am-1pm or 1pm-4:30pm) but please speak to us about your circumstances are there is some flexibility
  • The ability to commit to a minimum of three months in the role is essential.
