Office Volunteer
Project Overview
Ensuring the success of Action 21’s varied projects through additional administrative support.
We try to work with you to match your interests and areas of experience with our projects.
Volunteer tasks
• Typing up lists
• Researching green/local sources of goods and services
• Photocopying
• Inputting volunteer and member details onto our database
• Creating posters and leaflets
• Filing
• Project specific tasks
• Corresponding with external organisations and agencies like the local media or schools.
Skills/previous experience sought
• Good level of literacy
• Basic computer and internet skills (including working knowledge of Microsoft Word)
Benefits of volunteering:
• Expenses: We believe that volunteers should not be out of pocket for donating their time and effort and so we pay back all volunteers’ reasonable travel expenses & there’s tea, coffee & biscuits on tap.
• On the job training and support is provided, including review sessions to check you’re enjoying your volunteering placement and that your needs are being met.
• You’ll be part of the wider network of Action 21 volunteers, receiving regular updates and information on our projects and invites to our well attended volunteer socials
• Excellent work experience, especially for people pursuing a career in community/charity work and the environmental field.
Times needed:
Volunteers usually commit to a minimum of 1 shift of 3 ½ hours per week (9:30am-1pm or 1pm-4:30pm, Mon- Fri) but please speak to us about your circumstances; there is some flexibility.
