Guidance for Donations
Whilst we try to accept as many goods as possible at the Recycle Warehouse there are restrictions on some items. We would encourage people to try to take toys and bric-a-brac to the High Street Charity shops first, as we try to reserve space for large items and electrical goods which they can't accept.
Please read these guidelines carefully…if you need further assistance ring 01926 426369 or email recyclewarehouse@action21.co.uk
Furniture with foam filling (armchairs, sofas, padded dining chairs, mattresses etc)
We are happy to accept all manner of furniture at the Warehouse but we are only allowed to accept/sell foam-filled furniture that conforms to current fire safety standards. Check that there is a label attached that confirms that your donation complies with Furniture & Furnishing (Fire Safety) Regulations (1988).
On sofas, armchairs etc the label is often white with green writing and is usually located under the cushion. On mattresses the label is usually blue and is stitched on to the end. On dining chairs the label is usually underneath the seat.
Flat-pack Furniture
If you disassemble an item to bring it down to the warehouse, please ensure that you remember to bring all of the fixings and fittings too
Road Safety Equipment
We cannot accept bicycle/motorbike helmets or child car seats. Please use www.communityfreebay.co.uk or www.freecycle.org
Prams/ Pushchairs
Prams and pushchairs must comply with BS 7409 or BS EN 1888. These labels are usually found on the frame or seat covering.
They must also comply with Furniture & Furnishing (Fire Safety) Regulations (1988); most will have a permanent label to this effect with the words, “Carelessness Causes Fire”.
Chemicals & Noxious Waste
We cannot under any circumstances accept liquids or chemicals (such as paint or varnish), car tyres or pressurised containers such as gas cylinders.
Clothes & Shoes
We do not take these goods at the Warehouse. Please take clothes and shoes to your local charity shop or place them into the recycling banks on the main tip site.
Electrical Goods
We accept most electrical goods at the Warehouse but occasionally due to space constraints we are unable to accept certain bulky items, please ring in advance (01926 426369) or email recyclewarehouse@action21.co.uk for up-to-date info and advice.
If you have electrical items to donate, please check/ note that…

3. If you have a TV or video to donate please ensure that you remember the remote control, we will not take these items without the remote. TV’s and videos must have at least one scart socket.
4. We do not accept computers, printers and scanners (please use www.communityfreebay.co.uk or www.freecycle.org).
