Green Champions
Would you like to sing from the rooftops about green issues, tell school children about climate change, talk to your neighbour about their red recycling box, work with a community group to help them start a car sharing club or just have a natter with people about composting, home insulation, your favourite cycle route, growing your own vegetables or where to take your old sofa? Well, whatever your interest, passion or level of knowledge is relating to green issues, it would be great to hear from you.
We're running a Green Champions project which enables volunteers to do some training about sustainability, services that are available locally to help people live more sustainably, some tools to engage people with sustainability and how to communicate this information effectively to engage other people. Volunteers will then attend various public events, assist with acitivites in schools or work with community groups, depending on their preferences, to help people take positive environmental action.
We have run four induction sessions for Green Champions over 2008 and 2009 and our next Green Champions induction for new volunteers will take place in July. Please get in touch if you are interested in getting involved.
For more details about this particular opportunity, please see the Role Description.
This project continues to evolve so watch this space for exciting developments but to express an interest or have a chat about it, contact Amy on 01926 453030 or e-mail amy@action21.co.uk. We would love to hear from you.
