Friday 8th June

A Sporting History of Jephson Gardens, 10:30-12:00

Location: Meet at Newbold Terrace entrance (by the clock tower)

Cost: Free

With the London 2012 Olympic Games fast approaching, come on a walk through history and find out about the different sports that have been played in Jephson Gardens over the years.  From archery to croquet and lawn tennis to golf, there's a sport for everyone!  Meet by the clock tower (Newbold Terrace entrance).  All welcome, but children must be accompanied by an adult.

Saturday 9th June

Jephson Gardens’ Big Litter Pick, 9.30-10.30am

Location: Meet at East Lodge Sustainability Centre (the building next to the Willes Road entrance)

Cost: Free

Another litter pick around Jephson Gardens.  All equipment provided but wear suitable clothes.  Children should be accompanied by an adult.  Free tea and biscuits afterwards!

Sunday 10th June

Birds of Prey in Jephson Gardens, 11-4pm, falconry displays at 11am and 3pm.

Location: Top lawn

Cost: Free

Falconry Days are re-visiting Jephson Gardens.  Come and see the different birds of prey and watch fascinating falconry displays and ferret racing!  Children should be accompanied by an adult. Dogs are not allowed in the viewing area.

Sunday 15th July & Saturday 11th August

Jephson Gardens’ Big Litter Pick, 9.30-10.30am

Saturday 18th August

Hive of Activity, 10am-4pm

Location: Top lawn

Cost: Free

The Warwick and Leamington Branch of Warwickshire Beekeeping Association will be bringing all sorts of fascinating honeybee keeping equipment and products into the Gardens.  Try your hand at skep hive making, watch live bee-handling demonstrations and learn how vital the honeybee is for our food production.  Free bee-related craft activity for children. Children should be accompanied by an adult.

Saturday 8th September

Bat Walk, 7.30-8.30pm

Location: Meet at Newbold Terrace gate.  The ranger will let you into the Gardens.

Cost: Free, but donations to WWT welcome

Join an expert from Warwickshire Wildlife Trust and Action 21’s ranger for an evening bat walk and talk around Jephson Gardens.  Booking essential: phone 01926 258 782 or e-mail ranger@action21.co.uk to book.  Children should be accompanied by an adult and bring a torch.

A Leamington Ghost Walk –  Historical and Hysterical

Times and locations TBC

Cost: Free

Join Jephson Players on a spooky evening Halloween walk discovering the ghosts and ghouls of Leamington Spa.  Costumes encouraged!  This will be a bookable event. Children should be accompanied by an adult.

 Friday 2nd November

‘Tree-mendous’ Trees, sessions at 10.30am-12pm and 2.30-4pm

Location: Jephson Studios (Temperate House)

Cost: Free

A guided Autumn stroll around Jephson Gardens teaching children simple tree & leaf identification.  Materials collected from a scavenger hunt will be used to create leaf collages and leaf rubbings after the walk.  This activity is aimed at 4-10 year olds but younger children are welcome to come along.  Children should be accompanied by an adult.  Booking essential: phone 01926 258 782 or e-mail ranger@action21.co.uk to reserve your place.

Location: Meet at South Lodge (next to gate opposite Pump Rooms)

Cost: Free

Get some fresh air before Christmas and join the ranger for a relaxing walk looking at the history, wildlife and winter management of Jephson Gardens.  Children should be accompanied by an adult.
