Renewably powered public art
The idea is to commission an artist to undertake a public work of art incorporating renewable energy. The product is to have all the merits of a fine piece of art as well as making the idea of renewable energy sources attractive. Low energy Christmas lights
The proposal is to illuminate half of the Parish Church Christmas tree with low energy light bulbs and the other half with conventional bulbs. Electricity meters are to monitor both of lights and give a clear visual readout indicating the energy savings over the conventional bulbs. The message being that spectators could themselves benefit from such savings in their own homes by installing low energy light bulbs if they have not already so.
