Action 21 energy policy

Action 21 promotes the sustainable use of energy.  The current intense use of fossil fuels, being a finite resource, is not sustainable, and it seriously threatens the biosphere due to the large emissions of green house gases.  Changes are required in the way we use and how we source energy, in order to conserve valuable resources and to reduce the threat to the biosphere, on which we all depend.  Action 21 undertakes practical projects and promotes:

  • Demand reduction
  • Energy efficiency
  • A switch to renewables


Of this three pronged approach demand reduction is the most effective; followed by energy efficiency and renewables.
