Education for Sustainability
2012 & Beyond – 20th, 21st & 22nd June, Coombe County Park
For the eleventh successive year, schools from across Warwickshire and Coventry are being invited to attend 2012 and Beyond, a large outdoor education event to raise awareness of environmental issues.
The green event takes place over three days on the 20th, 21st & 22nd June at the beautiful Coombe County Park when hundreds of primary aged children will take part in exciting hands-on activities and workshops which bring environmental issues to life.
The aim of the event is to offer fun, interactive and thought provoking workshops that will encourage children to make positive changes to their lifestyles.
The event is organised in partnership between Warwickshire County Council, Coventry City Council, North Warwickshire Borough Council and Action 21.
Every year Action 21 helps organise a large outdoor education event for 1500 primary children in partnership with councils from Warwickshire, Coventry and North Warwickshire. The event takes place over three days at the beautiful Coombe Country Park and children aged 8 – 10 from 45 schools take part in exciting ‘hands-on’ activities and workshops which bring to life environmental and sustainability issues. Each school group takes part in five workshops through the course of a day; as illustrated in the following pictures from the ‘2010 and Beyond’ event in 2010.
