Saturday 4 & Sunday 5 September 2010 - Practical Action's 'Small Is' festivalThe Small is… Festival is a celebration and evolution of the ideas of “Small is Beautiful”, written by Practical Action's founder, E.F. Schumacher in 1970, but which still has profound significance today. The weekend event provides a space to share skills, learn about technologies, create networks, develop ideas and to be inspired about international development, sustainability and the planet. It is held on Practical Action's beautiful, rural office grounds in Bourton on Dunsmore, the Leamington side of Rugby. Go to the Small Is... website.Saturday 4 September 2010 - Old Milverton Village FeteAction 21 will be at the 113th Old Milverton Show and Fete, so come along and say "hello" between 2.30pm and 4.30pm.Sunday 5 September 2010 - Warwick Cycle RacesThere’s lots to see at Warwick Cycle Races, with not only top riders competing but also events such as trike racing and a race between members of the emergency services. It runs from 11am-6pm in Warwick Town Centre and is completely free. Action 21’s Dr Bike will be there to help you with any sick bicycles.If you love bikes, then come along. A group from Action 21 will be cycling from the Bandstand in Leamington Pump Room Gardens at 10.30am, and all are welcome to join the relaxing ride to Warwick. Saturday 11 September - Sustainability Centre Official Grand OpeningBetween 12 noon and 3pm the Sustainability Centre will be open for all to come and see. We'll be celebrating and officially launching the project at 12.30 with ribbon-cutting, followed by a tour of the site.Tuesday 14 September 2010 - Green DrinksCome and solve the world's problems with other green-minded people over a drink or two at the Slug and Lettuce function room, 38 Warwick Street, from 7.30pm-10pm. Thursday 16 September - Plastic bottle greenhouse building party 10am - 3pmWe’re starting to make the plastic bottle greenhouse at The Re-Useful Centre! Donations of plastic bottles have been coming in thick and fast, and although we’re not quite there on the 1,500 mark we’ve got enough to start building the timber frame structure. Saturday 18 September - *CANCELLED*Course: Introduction to Bike MaintenanceUnfortunately we've had to cancel this Bike Maintenance course. We'll hopefully be running some more in the future, so do keep an eye on our homepage. Thursday 23 September - Plastic bottle greenhouse building party Number Two!

Saturday 2 October 2010 - Swap ShopBringing you a cheap and environmentally-friendly alternative to the traditional Saturday shopping trip. Action 21's second swap shop, hosted by the Fab Fabs volunteers, will be on Saturday 2nd October between 2pm and 4pm, at the Sustainability Centre. Bring your unwanted (but good quality) clothes, accessories and shoes, and come away with exciting new pieces for your Autumn wardrobe. Get swapping! Tuesday 9 November 2010 - Green DrinksCome and solve the world's problems with other green-minded people over a drink or two at the Slug and Lettuce function room, 38 Warwick Street, from 7.30pm-10pm. Saturday 27 November 2010 - Songlines fundraising concert for WaterAidSome of our staff and volunteers sing in this wonderful community choir (led also by one of our volunteers). Songlines are celebrating their tenth anniversary with a magnificent concert at the Royal Spa Centre at 8pm. Tickets are £7/£4 from the Spa Centre box office (01926 334418), and some of the proceeds will go to WaterAid. |
