Did you know?

The Recycle Warehouse is on reduced service

The Recycle Warehouse building is currently undergoing repairs. We are continuing to operate on a slightly limited basis using shipping containers to store and display goods but we are open. This means that we may not able to accept all the donations that we are offered.  Please also note that we are now open 7 days a week!

The thought with meeting dates is that the REC comes together every two months for a large meeting (April, June, Aug, Oct, Dec) and on the other months (May, July, Sept, Nov) there will the opportunity for small group activity / meetings.

Meeting fronted by Derrick Knight.

DK welcomed those present and emphasised the inclusive nature of what it was hoped would be achieved together.  The meeting then heard short presentations on aspirations of one person interested in researching and installing one of the technologies.  In each case this led to a range of questions and discussion.   Everyone said where their current interest lay.  A number of people already have installations or have had direct experience from previous homes they have lived in.

As there was not enough time to allow us to break out in to small groups it was agreed we meet aqain in one month (1 March) with the focus specifically on meeting in Technology Groups to brainstorm such as the information needed and agree who should take on ‘researching' the different information before the next meeting.

1 March meeting - will specifically focus on the small group discussion (‘Technology Action Groups' / TAG's?) and prioritising what needs to be done to take matters forward.

5 April meeting -  it is hoped will include two presentations one on need for planning permission / permitted development, the other on available grants (JH to seek speakers).
