You can also buy produce direct from farms such as Elmhurst Organic Farm and Felden Forest Farm. This is great news, it means that on average a third of our household waste is recycled. However this still leaves another 30% of our rubbish bin which has the potential to be recycle too!

This is equivalent to switching off over 1.2 million 60 watt light bulbs for an hour or boiling 269,090 kettles of water. Of course it would be great if we could make that sort of reduction every day, but it shows what can be done with a bit of effort.
