The Bicycle Workshop
Since starting in May 2006 the bicycle workshop, now based at the Re-Useful Centre has:
- Taken many donations of bicycles from the public
- Refurbished and sold hundreds of bikes with a 1 month guarantee
- Amassed a spares library to enable customers to buy parts affordably and keep their bikes in running order
- Supplied bikes to local community groups such as Hybrid Arts and C.A.W
- Worked with a number of volunteers
- Passed raw unused materials to local artists for bicycle sculptures
- Developed links with local organisations.
Dr Bike
We can provide a Bicycle MOT service for your event, school eco-travel day or office. Typically we take servicing stands and tools and consumables and we set up a temporary workshop for the public to bring their bikes for a full check-over including minor repairs and adjustments. The service is free to the public although we charge the organisers a nominal fee.
Our bicycle doctors will also dress up in white lab coats and wear proper stethoscopes as part of the spectacle!
To book Dr Bike for your event, please download the booking form and return to laura@action21.co.uk or drop it in to the Re-Useful Centre.
