About us
Action 21 promotes environmental, social and economically sustainable projects in and around Warwick District, specifically aimed at enabling people to change their behaviour to address the causes of climate change and resource depletion. We work for people and the environment at a local level, in constructive partnership with other organisations and individuals. We aim to make greener living easier to do in ways which create a better quality of life. Our projects and activities focus on the issues of food, re-use, transport and energy and we are proud to have over 100 volunteers involved.
Mission
"Taking practical steps to reduce our environmental footprint”
Charitable aims
“to promote the protection and preservation of the environment for the public benefit by the promotion of waste reduction, re-use, reclamation, recycling, the use of recycled products and the use of surplus for the benefit of the inhabitants of the District of Warwick, and its environs. To also advance the education of the public in subjects related to sustainability in areas related to Energy, Food, and Transport through practical projects.”
Action 21 believes that by living sustainably we can achieve a better quality of life by consuming fewer resources: that is doing better with less. We aim to empower people to make sustainable choices in their lives, and recognise that to achieve this we need to establish services and projects which are relevant and useful within our community. It is essential to involve local people in planning and carrying out our activities and we will strive to ensure that all members of the community have an equal opportunity to take part in the process of change towards a more sustainable society.
