2012 & Beyond Group Leader
Project Overview
2012 & Beyond is a three day education event for primary schools organised by a partnership involving Action 21 and Councils from Coventry, Warwickshire and Rugby. The event is held at Coombe Country Park (near Coventry) and involves a series of interactive and inspiring environmental education activities for 1,500 eight to ten year olds from 45 schools across the area.
Volunteer tasks
• Guide and support the group of children participating in the activities
• Ensure that the group is generally looked after and happy.
Skills/previous experience sought
• No particular experience or skills are required as full training and support will be provided. Volunteers should enjoy working with children and be enthusiastic about the role.
Benefits of volunteering:
• This one-off volunteering activity provides a very simple and easy way to do something positive in your community, learn more about Action 21’s activities and of course have loads of fun volunteering with children for the day!
• Expenses: We believe that volunteers should not be out of pocket for donating their time and effort and so we pay back all volunteers’ reasonable travel expenses and we’ll also provide a packed lunch for the day.
• You’ll be part of the wider network of Action 21 volunteers, receiving regular updates and information on our projects and invites to our well attended volunteer socials.
